Our NBHA State Show was this past weekend. I tipped a barrel in the 1st go. Although, that run was more like an exhibition for Cruz. I did not have time to get an exhibition because myself, along with Stephanie, and our new Intern, Amy, attended my oldest son's end of the year roller skating party. It was a blast. I gave the younger ladies a lesson in roller skating "old school"!
Anyhow... My 2nd run was much better, and I ended up 7th in the 3D. Not where I wanted to be, but a much improved run over the 1st day. In the finals, I ended up in the 2D, but did not place. I was not really impressed with my run. After watching the video, I see several placed I need to step up my game. I will be working on those areas the next few weeks.
This weekend makes Cruz a State Show finalist as well as NBHA World Show finalist... And he is just 5! He is my perfect fit in a horse. A friend was over last week riding with us, and even she mentioned that Cruz was her favorite mount for me. I agreed.
Ryan and Pee-Wee turned in 2 solid runs, and just fell in the cracks. They did not make the finals. My good friend JD ended up placing in the 2D finals on his nice horse Tiny.
Stephanie has went back to Texas for a week to visit family and friends. She will be staying on through the summer and return to Texas in time for the fall semester of school. Our new Intern, Amy, is from Kansas. She has jumped right in with both feet. She is very eager to learn and a pleasure to work with.
Finally! We have our own Infamous Fire baby! He was born this morning. He is a darker line back dun. I think he will lighten up with time. He has a star and a little white on his back left foot.
He is out of my favority mare, LA Fougere. She is by a AAA son of Dash For Cash (her sire is also a full brother to a World Champion race horse), and she is out of an own daughter of Tiny Watch. LA has given us 2 wonderful foals by Z, and a big colt by Hesa Gay Dreamer. This is her 4th foal for us... All boys. I'd like to have a filly to keep back as a future broodmare, but no luck yet. I think we will probably breed her back to Fire.
We are just so excited with this little guy. No name ideas are jumping out at me yet. If you have any ideas, please let me know. Stephanie had her camera in the Gator this morning, and snapped a few quick pictures of me with the little guy. This is a great picture. Looks like it was planned.
How fitting. This mare gave me my 1st Zippy Zevi Dasher baby, my 1st Hesa Gay Dreamer baby, and she has now given me my 1st Infamous Fire baby. This mare has a home for life.

Finally the weekend. Amazing how much one looks forward to a couple days off. Rain has postponed out soccer tournament today. But Tuesday night, it's on! Stephanie was happy because she is going to make shirts for us to wear. I look forward to seeing them.
Lance's father, Jim, had heart surgery yesterday. He came through great, and we are all hoping he has a speedy recovery.
We received our NBHA Dixie National pictures in the mail today. They are really neat. I love pictures. I also got a picture of our Dash Ta Fame baby this morning. I posted it in my photo gallery. He's a great looking baby. He's for sale! LOL. We still have another Fame baby to hit the ground that is due any day. Both mares are in OK at Lance's facility. When I go to OK with Z, we are going to breed Coup De Oh back to him. Coup De Oh is the mother of BBR 1D World Champion Coup De Alibi. We have a lot of hope for these foals.
The Z baby we had that hit the ground this week is a hoot. He is so friendly and thinks he is a dog! he comes running up to see us. He has not teeth yet. When he gets turned out, he runs and runs. I am exceptionally pleased with him. He is out of our LLC mare by Pines Easter Jet.
We had another mare & Z baby come in last night. A bay filly born last Saturday. She's huge. Bay with a star. This filly has tons of class and presence about her.
I am still excpecting one more Z baby and a Fire baby. The mare bred to Fire is due any day. I can't wait!

This is the Dash Ta Fame colt out of Coup De Oh (AAA) by Coup De Kas.
A nice day in SC. Temps in the low 90's, and manageable humidity. We had a couple shippers, and some mares to breed on the farm. It's nice to be sitting down this evening. It seems as though once we get going during the day, we don't have a chance to sit down anymore.
Cruz is really doing well today with his rings in the teeth. He ate without any problems. I'll probably ride him tomorrow. We have the vet coming tomorrow morning to check a few mares and see if we will be expecting any new babies next year. We had another outside mare come in today, and expect a couple more this week. We will also have 3 or 4 mares go home. That is always nice too.
Our new baby is doing great. He's up and running around like the wind. His mom is great. She's a pretty strong personality mare, so I was wondering how aggressive she would be towards us. She could care less if we come in and mess with him. We are going to make sure this little guy is super friendly. He is a big boy! All legs. It's so cute to see him run and buck when he is so young.
This is our last week of Soccer. We have a game on Friday night, and then tournaments on Saturday. Dylan has done outstanding. His coach is very impressed with how well he has done for his 1st year.
I knew they could not hold out forever! We had a baby today. He was born about 10:30 this morning. Thanks mom. His sire is Zippy Zevi Dasher, and his mother is Pansy Bar Pine-an own daughter of Pines Easter Jet. Daddy is bay, and mommy is black, and this little guy is sorrel! What gives?? I am tickled. He has huge legs, a big blaze, a full sock on the front right, and I think a little white on the back left. A lot of white considering his parents don't have much white between the two of them. He is just a doll. He is friendly so far. I sure hope my other couple mares see this baby and decide they should have their babies also! It's about time. I will try to get some pictures of this little guy and post them asap.
Stephanie took Cruz, her mare and another gelding to the vet this morning. Cruz had rings put in his teeth to stop him from cribbing. They seem to be working, however, he now has a copper grill! The rings are not quite what I thought they would be, but I'm willing to try anything to stop him from cribbing without the collar or surgery! Time will tell. It was odd to see him standing in his stall without a collar on. I sure hope this works. I should take some pictures of these rings and post them as well.
I also went to the dentist this morning. I had a pinpoint cavity that had to be filled. Fun, fun! I was also informed I have to have all 4 wisdome teeth removed. That sounds like fun. Can't wait... Sign me up. Just not a big fan of the dentist.
