You sure could tell today was a Monday! My goodness, we were busy. We had 10 mares to be bred on the farm, and has several shippers. With over 40 horses on the property, chores and stall cleaning have become very time consuming. Riding now seems like something we did when we actually had time.
I am so excited about the incredible bunch of outside mares we have being bred to our stallions. I'm even more excited about this being the year. Z's first foals will run in December! I cannot wait. Our 3 year old Z filly is in OK with Lance Graves getting ready to run in December. Our 3 year old filly is out of an own daughter of Bugs Alive in 75. I am thrilled with her and can't wait to watch her run. I'll see her next month when we go to OK.
I think it's time to start riding Fire. He seems to be 100%, finally. Maybe we'll have him ready to either late fall futurities, or some 5 year old futurities. He is the neatest horse. I want people to see how naturally athletic he is.
Tomorrow, Stephanie and I are going shopping! We are going to have a day off and enjoy it.
It's Saturday, and we could not be happier. Finally, a slight break. We all ran yesterday at the Dixie Nationals. All of us fell in the cracks, but we put together 3 clean runs. Stephanie has already ran this morning, and had a nice, clean run. Ryan and I will run later this afternoon.
We have quite a few outside mares here, and they continue to come in. We bred 7 mares on the farm yesterday and had a few shippers. It was a busy day between running barrels and breeding.
Stephanie's daughter of Behold A Beduino was vet checked in foal on Thursday. That was fun. And yes... Still no babies. They all look close, but nothing! I do have one Z foal here, and we had another outside mare come in yesterday with a cute Designer Red baby on her side.
I am headed out to the barn to clean stalls, and breed 1 mare. A slow day for the most part, and well deserved for all. Ryan and the boys went to TSC. I'm sure they are having fun.
Mondays tend to bring chaos to our place, and today was no exception. We had 2 new outside mares arrive, a gelding head to his new home in MN, 2 shippers, and 6 on farm mares to breed. That kept us busy pretty much all day long. When we are not getting farm work done, we are keeping up with all the paperwork!
We took some time out this afternoon before chores to play with our Corgi puppies that are now 4 weeks old. They are really starting to show their personalities. It's funny to hear them growl and bark. They are all too cute!
It's been so windy the last couple days. It's hard to get anything done outside when you are getting blown away! We are finally done for the day. We've ordered Pizza from down the road, and plan to relax a little bit. Have to help Dylan with his homework, and get both boys in bed.
Tomorrow it's off to the vet, and running here and there to get things done. It will be a day of running. No complaints. I could not imagine doing anything else.
Good morning! It's been a busy weekend at Synergy Stables. We sold a horse yesterday to a family from MN. I sold another Corgi from my March litter. We had another family stop to meet our Corgi dog family. We all rode a couple horses - and some neighbors rode over and worked their horses with us.
It's raining pretty good this morning - and we need it! There are tornado warnings to the East of us. I have a family from AL coming to pick up their mare that vet checked in foal to Z today. We have soccer practice with Dylan this afternoon. He's really doing well considering this is his first year playing.
All of our mares are getting close to foaling. Can't wait! I'm expecting 2 Z babies and 1 Fire baby this year. Looking forward to that.
Good evening. It's been a long Friday. We had shippers on both Z & Fire today - and breeders for both here on the farm. We finally have a Z baby here. He does not belong to us, but he is incredible and we love him. He's out of the sweetest daughter of Merridoc. I don't personally have any babies... yet. Hopefully by the end of the month I will have a Z baby, then a Fire baby, and then 1 last Z baby.
We had a mare and baby go home today - a daughter of One Slick One. We vet checked a mare in foal to Z yesterday. She is a super cool mare. She is a 20 year old cutting mare and she is out of an OWN daughter of Poco Bueno. This mare is beautiful! Not super tall but as wide as she is tall.
We wrapped up the day with Dylan's soccer game. He did a nose dive and skid across the ground with his face! Exciting, but he was back up and playing before we knew it.
We will be taking the weekend off to get ready for the NBHA Dixie Nationals next weekend. I enjoy the Dixie Nationals. They are a nice time for us to see old friends, and catch up with them.
