Guys are stupid.. Remember that!..

    Monday, April 14, 2008, 11:40 AM [General]

I had a rodeo this weekend. I ran a 15.4 in barrels. Yay. I had a really wide barrel though. But hey all  the barrels were left up. Three runs in a row like that.. I'm stoked. Haha. I ran a 24.4 in poles. It wasn't my best run but my new horse hasn't been ran on poles in about three years. I was happy I got that. I think I got like seventh. I was sittin 2nd overall in points.. but I lost it cuz they only give points to the top six. <-- If yall don't get that let me know and I'll try to explain it more. I didn't do so hot in goats.. and again I missed in breakaway.

I learned something this weekend though. I don't need a guy to make me happy. I was talkin to this guy and I really liked him.. and we had talked before and I had told him that it just wasn't gonna work because of rodeo and my friends. Well he still liked me and stuff and I was tryin really hard to find a way to see him. Well I went to a softball game to see him. (Dardanelle vs. Clarksville). He just ignored me and stuff and it really made me mad. Like he would talk to me but not very much. SO.. I was like ok. Then on the way out he got mad at me for steppin on his damn shoe. I didn't mean too. He was like "Quit doin that it's pissin me off" and I was like "Get over it. It's not that bigga deal. Damn!" and I walked off. I was tired of it. He left without sayin good bye. So I texted him and we kinda got into it.. ((There is more to this story.. but I don't feel like typin it all.. Sorry.)). He called me about 10:45 that night and was like I don't like people bein mad at me please don't... Well he like quit textin me before that.. Come to find out that he is datin this chick now that I go to school. I was really upset at first but now it's just like oh well. He wasn't worth it. I love the sayin {Sometimes it's better to remember what you deserve and forget how you feel}. I didn't deserve to be treated the way he treated me.. but I liked him. But I'm glad it didn't work out. It doesn't bother me anymore like I thought it would. I have talked to my friends about it and they said I deserve better and I do. I GOT MY HORSES, RODEO, AND MY FRIENDS TO MAKE ME HAPPY. I DON'T NEED A GUY!!! Haha. Guess I just figured that out though.. Oh well.. There is a time in life for everything...

  •  Talk slowly, think quickly
  •  It's better to be a has-been that a never-was.
  • If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin'.
  • If it don't seem like it's worth the effort, it probably ain't.
  • It don't take a genius to spot a goat in a flock of sheep.
  • Sometimes you get and sometimes you get got.
  • If you get to thinkin' you're a person of some influence, try orderin' somebody else's dog around.
  • Don't worry about bitin' off more'n you can chew; your mouth is probably a whole lot bigger'n you think.
  • Always drink upstream from the herd.
  • Generally, you ain't learnin' nothing when your mouth's a-jawin'.
  • If you're ridin' ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it's still there with ya.

    BARREL RACER'S PRAYER

    Thursday, March 20, 2008, 11:59 AM [General]

THIS IS MY LAST ONE. I PROMISE. I LOVE THESE THOUGH SO I HAD TO POST THEM.

    Barrel Racer's Prayer

Lord, I might seem so little
    Sitting up here all alone
Astride the mountain of a horse
You made of muscle, of bone.
But, together we're a team, Lord
    With one goal in mind,
To make it around the cloverleaf
    In record breaking time.
    Please, keep my horse surefooted,
Let me hang on to my quirt.
    Racing around those barrels
With one stirrup in the dirt.
As we make that last runaround
And we quickly race for home.
Win or lose, record or not,
    With You we're never alone.
I thank You for being there,
Keeping my horse and my safe
And Lord, With Your Divine help,
We will compete in our next race.

    I'M A BARREL RACER

    Thursday, March 20, 2008, 11:56 AM [General]

    I'm A Barrel Racer

    I'm a Barrel Racer, Lord.
A quick time is what I need.
Just to turn these three barrels
With a descent amount of speed.
I've hauled a lot of miles
To run this horse of mine.
    To make each barrel race
And then the next one down the line.
    If it's a spill that I take
Please, Lord keep the dirt soft
    For another run I'll make
Just as soon as I dust off.
My chin I'll keep it up,
And my tears, I'll try to hide,
Then I'll climb back in my saddle
Ever anxious for my next ride.
To win or lose with grace.
For some other girl will want to win
    This very same barrel race.
So let us ride as one, Lord,
    My barrel horse and me.
    For hard work and perseverance,
I believe this is the key.
We've trained and we've worked hard
And if I win, You know of course,
To you I'll give the glory,
To you and to my horse.
