Barrel Races
I havent quite got the hang of blogs, so here goes my first one...
Last weekend I went to a BBR barrel race in Bloomfield, Iowa and Money and I had a really good run. We ended up getting 4th in the 2D. And she even tripped and pulled a shoe going around the second barrel. So I was really happy with how we ended up. The next weekend we went to the NBHA nationals in Gifford, and we didnt do good at all :( But before we ran I almost lost my horse. Somehow, she got spooked, while tied to the trailer. She ended up with half her body under the trailer. We thought she was going to break her leg. Fortunately my friend was there and he happened to get her out with only a cut on her knee.
But I have had Money for four years. I have pretty much only ran her during the summers. My Junior year in HS I ran her in a few futurities, but never quite got it together. It's hard to concentrate only on barrel racing when I have school on top of it. But hopefully this summer, I can get it done, and start doing good on Money. She is breeding is awesome, and she has so much potential. Her sire's sire is Easy Jet and her dam's sire is On the Money Red!
More to come later, as I attend more barrel races. My next one planned in the NBHA MO State Championships!!
