My Junior year I plan to transfer to the University of Illinois for Pre Vet. I have huge aspirations of being a Vet! I love barrel racing, although I havent put everything together on my horse "ShesRightOnTheMoney." I also have several young ones by our paint stallion that I should be putting more time on!

    State Show

Monday, June 18, 2007, 12:33 PM CST [General]

Our NBHA Mo state barrel race was June 8-10!  I was a little nervous because I was potentially going to have to run my mare 6 times in on weekend.  Because I entered in the youth as well as the open.  This is so crazy... My draw number for both classes was #52.  I never imagined that would happen.  My first run was pretty good, I was about 7tenths off.  My next run got bad really quick.  I hit the 2nd and the 3rd!  In the same run and it was the first barrel I have ever hit on this mare.  My next run was okay, it got me qualified for the youth finals.  My next run was probably the best, because I had a good time, but i hit a barrel  :(  My final run was not good, but I was happy because I made the finals!  I was happy with the weekend especially since we had to run 5 time in three days!

    Barrel Races

Monday, May 28, 2007, 12:28 PM CST [General]

I havent quite got the hang of blogs, so here goes my first one...

Last weekend I went to a BBR barrel race in Bloomfield, Iowa and Money and I had a really good run.  We ended up getting 4th in the 2D.  And she even tripped and pulled a shoe going around the second barrel.  So I was really happy with how we ended up.  The next weekend we went to the NBHA nationals in Gifford, and we didnt do good at all :(  But before we ran I almost lost my horse.  Somehow, she got spooked, while tied to the trailer.  She ended up with half her body under the trailer.  We thought she was going to break her leg.  Fortunately my friend was there and he happened to get her out with only a cut on her knee.

But I have had Money for four years.  I have pretty much only ran her during the summers.  My Junior year in HS I ran her in a few futurities, but never quite got it together.  It's hard to concentrate only on  barrel racing when I have school on top of it.  But hopefully this summer, I can get it done, and start doing good on Money.  She is breeding is awesome, and she has so much potential.  Her sire's sire is Easy Jet and her dam's sire is On the Money Red!

More to come later, as I attend more barrel races.  My next one planned in the NBHA MO State Championships!!
