About Me: So far as I know, I am the only professional gateman. I also manage a seniors only mobile home park in Florida. My relationship with horses started back in 1971 when I met Pete Carter. Most of the shows we went to back then were held at an arena in Riverdale, GA which was owned by Brett Monroe's dad Bunky and Larry Wallace. I later worked with Billy Sanders, taking care of his horses for about 12 years. Through him I started working for Talmadge Green. I was fortunate enough to work with many World Champion horses and to meet some of the greatest barrel racers of all time. I now have friends all over the world. Barrel racers are my family, my friends, and the reason that I stay involved with horses. Through my work with the NBHA Road Crew, I have been able to work the gate and work with the best people, at some of the biggest and best barrel races ever held.
Music: I like all catagories of music. In fact, I don't really believe in most of the labels that people put on music. To me there are only two kinds of music, good and bad.
Movies: Gone With The Wind, Pretty Woman, Pay It Forward, Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, Streetcar Named Desire, The Star Wars trilogy, Forrest Gump, 2001 A Space Odessy.
TV: Lost, Grey's Anatomy, History Channel, RFD TV
Heroes: John Glenn, Alan Sheppard,Chuck Yeager, Mother Theresa, the late Steve Erwin, all those who work for peace in our world.

Good Luck to everyone going to Youth World.

Wish I could be there. I am so upset that I am having to miss it. I understand that I cannot work until they can be sure that I am well enough, but it still doesn't make me any happier about it.

They have my sleep test set for Sept. 4th. Then my follow up is set for Sept 20th.  That will only leave two shows that are possible for me to work this year. Oh well, I just have to have faith that next year will be better.

    Thank You / health update

Wednesday, June 20, 2007, 10:04 AM EST [General]

Most importantly, Thank You to everyone who has been chacking on me and my health since I had to go to the hospital in Las Vegas. I didn't realize how many friends I have until they knew I was sick. I am so thankful for each and every one of them.   I am still waiting to get to see a cardiologist here at home. I am doing well so far with the meds that they put me on in Vegas. Hopefully I will get to see a doctor in the next few weeks. I really hate that I am going to miss the All American, but hopefully everything will work out so that I can go to the Youth World.
