Hi Thanks for asking! Perry went pretty well. I was just outta the finals in the 3D on Friday, and saturday I ran after they had wet the arena, so it was boggy, but my horse worked really really nice. it was a fun trip and he stayed sound, so i can't complain!

From Elberton (about 35 miles west of Anderson, SC), it took us around 11 hours..but we stopped along the way to get Pride off the trailer twice and give him water. The roads didn't get too bad until we hit Meridian..Meridian to Jackson, they were pretty rough. Anyways, good luck again and thanks for the luck! Let me know how it goes and keep in touch! Have a great day!

No problem! Sounds like yall have all the bases covered. i have been having hock issues with my gelding for the past month. Nothin major..just something not being right...after several trips to the vet now, we think we have him right, so he's gonna get a lot of long trotted the next couple of weeks because we are plannin on runnin at the NBHA Southern States Triple Crown Show in Perry, GA, 4th of July weekend. Are yall going? If not, good luck at World...I will be looking for another buckskin in the finals!

As far as the heat STRESS for the horses...if you don't have your horses on electrolytes already, I would put them on a good electrolyte prior to Jackson, one that makes them drink well....I have Pride on some apple flavored stuff and he will drink a whole bucket of water as soon as you put it in there...in Memphis, we wet his hay and feed down also to get more water into him and I just spent a long time cooling him out. If your horses are in shape, as I am sure they are, then you should be fine...just make sure they drink well. ALSO, I am not sure if anyone has told you, but the roads ARE/WERE horrible between Meridian, MS, and Jackson as in bumpy..they might have fixed this by now...but I would do pillow wraps and polos to help protect them on the way...hope this helps!

Hey! It is the south, so like you know it can be hot and humid anywhere. I don't remember Jackson being terribly bad. I am planning on moving to MS (Starkville) next month for vet school, so I doubt the climate there will be a lot hotter than here. However, the hottest most miserable show place I have been is Shelbyville, TN....now that place is STAGNANT after a storm bc i don't remember there being air condition in the arena. You should have a great time in Jackson, I loved it! The dirt is great and the staff is always amazing. I am planning on shooting down there for the finals, hopefully I will see your daughter in there! Good luck!

It was born the Friday before the show at Tommy's parents house. It is a filly.

Clemson was great. Tommy took his horse and she is still sound!!! He didn't push her hard. He just let her run at her own pace. I think that is what he is going to do this weekend too. He may ask on her a little more, maybe! I had 3 smooth runs that were just out of the money each run, but got faster each run. I ended up placing third in the overall average for the 3 days. Nice check!!! Tracy placed in the third go round. Everyone else done well, just fell in the cracks. I hope that my luck will run over into this weekend. (Yeah right!!!) It is more than likely gone for the rest of the year!! Oh well!
