We'll it had to happen. I went out last night to exercise Pee Wee. My goal was to work him easy for about 30 minutes. I want to get him in better shape for the NBHA Dixie Nationals coming up. Well... he was having no part of this plan. I mean NO PART! I first tried to catch him in the arena. Yeah right. He was gone. I had my 8 year old son Dylan try to help. Nope. Finally, after 10 minutes, he stopped running. From there we went to the round pen. My goal was to exercise him and stay off his back. After all he is 21. We had a lot of rain so the middle of the round pen had some mud. He took off fine and then learned he could stop on the other side of the mud from me and look at me. URGH! So, after getting mud up to my knees, I went to the hot walker. NO WAY! He pulled back and broke the tie. Remember this was my dream horse last Saturday.  By this point, 45 minutes had elapsed and I was sucking air to no end. He was breathing pretty hard too. I guess... in the end... my goal was accomplished. I put him up and went into the house to watch Survivor. Horses are smart. Maybe smarter than we think. I am pretty sure I heard him laughing as I walked away.
