Captain Jack amazed me last night.  I came home and he was out of the kennel, but he was sacked out in the grass and Freckles was sitting waiting for me to come home since she knew I was due at any point.  Jack even barked at my car when I pulled up!  He and Freckles seemed to have gotten along fine all day, in fact she seemed a little dirtier than when I put her out yesterday morning!  He did follow the car when Freckles and I left to go to the Greenway to walk, but not too far.  He was laying on the porch when we got back and was ready to play with Freckles once she got out of the car!  He ate a good helping of food and drank loads of water.

At one point he was chasing squirrels and barking with the neighborhood dogs.  He is leaving Freckles alone when I walk her and he was asleep on the porch this morning.  So, for now, I have a cute black guard dog.  I still want to get him a nice roomy 'forever' home where he can play with lots of other pups and have a ton of room to roam without having to worry.  But if he keeps acting like this, he can stay with me for a while.  The good news is that he is alive and well!

 

Tomorrow I am going riding with Amy and then my best friend from school is coming down from Greenville for the night!  I haven't seen her in at least a year if not longer so I am very excited.  This weekend should be loads of fun!!

I am such a sentimental sod! There was a lab mix that took up with my parents and they started to take care of him and he would come and go, but most stick around while they were home and just enjoy the good life. Well, one of the neighbors has this little toy poodle that has been a pain to everyone that lives around my parents because he is this antagonistic little thing. Always picking on dogs bigger than him and running up in front of cars and what not. Apparently, Jack (that's what my mom finally started calling him) bit this stupid poodle so they called animal control. Jack got picked up last week. My parents really cared about him, so being the loving daughter that I am, I went and found out where he was and how much time he had left before the animal shelter would put him down. Mind you this happened yesterday...Well, his 5 days were up and there was not a very good chance that he would be adopted. So I called my parents to find out what they wanted to do. They finally made the decision to get him so I went and picked him up. The stipulation was that he would have to be tethered at my parents house so he could not get down the road to the other "thing". After setting up the tether and putting him on it, we left Jack alone. And like his name sake, Jack Sparrow, he managed to slip his tight collar in less than 30 minutes. Thankfully he did not go anywhere before we caught him. Well, that just wasn't going to work, so he ended up at my house in Freckles kennel for the night. He didn't get out last night but he sure tried! Basically, it seems that he needs a nice big yard, loads of animal friends and having his own way to be happy.

If anyone wants a loving black lab mix who is great with kids and animals and has some room to let him roam...give me a holler, I have a great friend for you!

Me and my big heart! Hopefully something will work out, but I just couldn't let him get put down...Now I wonder what the sexy Brit is going to say since he said I was limited to two animals and the ferret does count for one of them...

This place is taking off!  It is great!  Welcome to all the new people who have signed up and keep spreading the word.

I can't believe that it is Wednesday already.  This week is going by pretty quickly.  Not that I am complaining though.  I like it when the week goes by quickly, makes me feel like I am actually doing something and getting things accomplished!  Ryan is taking me, Stacey and Danica to lunch today as part of our office MVP Award stuff.   I think my stomach already knows what it is getting (Augustino's!!) and I feel like I am starving and it is only 9:30!  So much for hunger control.  Oh well.

I am excited because it looks like Amy and I are going riding this weekend!!  I can't wait!

I've been having fun today!  I figured out how to change my site profile and I think it looks right nifty!  And I see that we have had over 25 new members sign up today!  Awesome!
